If you’re hiring a car to take you from the airport to our accommodation, the drive from Exeter Airport to Portland House typically takes around 15-20 minutes by car, but bear in mind that this timeframe may vary depending on the fluctuating traffic conditions.
Getting to Vita Student Portland House via the A30 and B3183
Approx: 4.7 miles.
The fastest and most direct route avoids motorways and will take you on the A30 and the B3183. Both main roads provide a semi-scenic route through greenery before you approach the historic and majestic city centre of Exeter.
It all depends on what kind of car you have, its fuel type, and the price per gallon on the day you travel. However, as a general guide, it could cost as little as 59p for this journey! (Price correct as of April 2024).
Please Note: If you are travelling to us by car, we don’t have on-site parking at this building. However, all our accommodation buildings are centrally located, with access to other parking facilities such as the John Lewis Car Park just a short walk away.
How to get to Vita Student Portland House by Taxi / Uber
If you are looking to take a taxi to our Portland House accommodation, you’ll find plenty of taxis waiting to take you on your way, whether you want to use Uber or a private taxi company.
USEFUL INFO
‘Apple Taxis Exeter’ is the only official airport-authorised private hire taxi company.
It operates from the Taxi Desk in the Arrivals building. Private Hire Vehicle journeys must be pre-booked by telephone (01392 666 666) or in person at the Taxi Desk at Exeter Airport.
Other taxi companies are not permitted to use the Arrivals taxi stand; however, they will pick you up in Car Park 1 at the airport.
Using Uber
Depending on the time of day and whether you require an UberXL, Exec or Assist, at the time of writing this blog post, you’ll be looking at between £15 and £22 for an Uber ride to our Portland House Accommodation.
How to get to Vita Student Portland House by Train
There isn’t a train station at Exeter Airport; the nearest train station to the airport is Cranbrook, which is around a 5-minute taxi ride away.
If you were to choose to travel from Cranbrook Station, it is around a 9-minute journey (2 stops) from Cranbrook Station to Exeter Central Station. We are then located a 10-minute walk from there.
How to get to Vita Student Portland House by Bus
Travelling to us via bus couldn’t be easier—catch the 4a bus directly from Exeter Airport to the city centre! The journey takes approximately 30 minutes, and it is just five stops to Paris Street, which is right next to our accommodation.
Reaching us from Exeter Airport is incredibly straightforward, and we’re so excited to welcome you to our city.
Our accommodation at Portland House is centrally located, making it the ideal spot for students studying and living in Exeter.
