What age do I need to be to live with Vita Student?more
You need to be 17+ to live at Vita Student, and a full-time university student in the UK or Barcelona.

Do I need to pay for a TV license and council tax as a student living at Vita Student Southampton?more
If you plan on watching/recording any live terrestrial TV or on BBC iPlayer, you will need to pay for your own TV Licence. You can set up your TV Licence here.
You shouldn’t need to pay council tax in the UK as a full-time student in Southampton. We might ask for evidence of your student status at any point during your stay in order to ensure you are exempt from council tax.

When can I move into my student accommodation in Southampton?more
It might be possible to check in earlier than your contract starts, if your room is empty over the summer. Get in touch and we can let you know the earliest date that you can move in.
Once your contract has officially started, you can move in at any time. Closer to the start date, we’ll ask you to let us know when you plan to arrive so that we can make check-in as seamless as possible – but if you need to amend this date and time, you can easily do so from within your Vita Student Account.

Is Vita Student accommodation in Southampton safe and secure?more
Vita Student is safe and your room is absolutely secure. All door entry is key fobbed, we have CCTV and our on-site staff are available at reception or patrolling the building 24 hours a day. Their job is to protect you and the building at all times.

Yes! If you want to live with a partner, we offer dual occupancy rooms in many of our buildings at Vita Student, with an extra charge of 20%.

Of course! You can have a guest stay up to 2 consecutive nights free of charge. You’ll need to make sure that they are signed in at reception, and always with you whilst in the building.

What is the difference between Portswood House and Richmond House?more
Portswood House is located next to St Denys train station and is closest to the University of Southampton’s Highfield Campus. Portswood House also includes on-site printing and an outside terrace. Richmond House has been refurbished for 2024/25 and is located near Ocean Village and is closer to the city centre.
