Lakechia Jeanne – Fundadora de Girls in Science

Con formación tanto en ciencia como en medios de comunicación, Lakechia Jeanne ha combinado ambas experiencias para mejorar las oportunidades profesionales de las mujeres. Es la fundadora de Girls in Science, una iniciativa social para ayudar a las mujeres a entrar en carreras de STEM.

Lakechia puso en marcha Girls in Science mientras vivía en Vita Student Lawrence Street en York, y desde entonces ha ayudado a unas 3000 mujeres a entrar en carreras científicas. Organiza eventos, conectando a graduadas con empleadores, ofrece mentoría individual y participa en conferencias para inspirar a mujeres en campos científicos.

Ha ganado múltiples premios, incluidos los Women’s Leaders Awards, de los que ahora ella misma es miembro del jurado.

May James – Experta en Business Scaling

Desde su época viviendo en Vita Student y estudiando en Newcastle, May James ha logrado forjar una exitosa carrera bajo sus propios términos. Es una experta en escalamiento de negocios y asesoramiento a CEO femeninas en todo el mundo, ayudándolas a convertir sus pequeñas empresas en negocios multimillonarios.

Durante sus estudios, May dedicó un año a asesorar pequeñas empresas en Uganda, pero contrajo un virus que más tarde se convirtió en una enfermedad crónica. Sabiendo que nunca podría trabajar en un horario típico de 9 a 5, se vio obligada a replantear todo su plan de vida.

Desde entonces, se ha consolidado en el mundo de los negocios, ganando múltiples premios por su trabajo, incluido el de NE Young Businesswoman of the Year. Además, presenta su propio pódcast, The Honest Business Podcast, es mentora para Virgin StartUp y fue Delegada para ONU Mujeres.

AARON

Aaron Langford – Social Influencer

Aaron Langford siempre ha buscado usar su plataforma para generar cambios. En su vida diaria, trabaja como Coordinador de Desarrollo Empresarial para Cognassist, una start-up de tecnología educativa que ayuda a las empresas a desarrollar marcos de apoyo para empleados con neurodiversidad.

Fuera de su rol diario, es un influencer en TikTok que realiza lives semanales para concienciar sobre la alopecia androgénica, una condición que le diagnosticaron a los 13 años. Su trayectoria en haciendo directos comenzó tras publicar un video viral mientras vivía en Vita Student Westgate en Newcastle.

Con millones de visitas en su contenido y hasta 30,000 espectadores en una sola retransmisión, Aaron responde preguntas sobre su alopecia y usa el poder de las redes sociales para difundir positividad a su audiencia en todo el mundo. Además de esto, ha lanzado múltiples iniciativas sociales y comunitarias, y está nominado para los England Business Awards de este año.

Yasshmita Jadishkumar – Jugadora profesional de squash

Muchas personas quieren ser las mejores del mundo en lo que hacen, pero muy pocas lo logran. No obstante, Yasshmita, una residente actual de Vita Student, ya está en camino. Con solo 19 años, es jugadora profesional de squash, representando a su país natal, Malasia, y está clasificada entre las mejores 100 jugadoras del mundo.

Yasshmita comenzó a jugar a squash en su adolescencia y ha ascendido rápidamente en las clasificaciones gracias a su perseverancia y compromiso: Yasshmita entrena varias veces al día y ha sacrificado mucho de su vida universitaria para alcanzar sus sueños.

Simple Wu – Manager en BlueFocus Shanghai

Trabaja para BlueFocus, una de las principales agencias integradas de marketing y publicidad de China. Como General Manager de todo el Shanghai Brand Centre, es responsable de alrededor de 200 empleados.

Juan Rodriguez Pablo Falcon – CFO at Shalion

Many students face the difficulty of juggling their studies with their job – and for Juan, this feeling is all too familiar. As the Chief Financial Officer of Shalion, a start-up data services company in Barcelona, he has mastered the art of handling pressure and balancing time.
